Nikon at NAB, booth #C8825, April 7 – 10 in Las Vegas:
Heading to the NAB Show® in Las Vegas this year? Be sure to swing by the Nikon booth for a little hands-on time with the brand new Nikon D4S and the Nikon 1 V3. Mix and mingle with producers and directors who rely on the agility and compact form-factor of Nikon HDSLR cameras to create everything from TV series to music videos to broadcast commercials.
Achieving a new level of multimedia performance, the Nikon D4S is Nikon’s latest Flagship DSLR camera. “The Nikon D4S is the camera for professionals who produce both high-quality photo stills and video,” said Mark Soares, Technical Marketing Manager for Nikon, Inc. “It’s ideal for multimedia work because it offers an unparalleled set of features and controls. For video, the D4S can capture video at 1080/60p and deliver beautiful footage that retains all of its clarity, color and sharpness. The D4S also leverages the smooth exposure transition capability to help multimedia storytellers create stunning timelapse movies. An additional winning feature of the Nikon D4S is its ability to output uncompressed video to external monitors or recording devices via the HDMI-out port while enabling recording to both in-camera storage and to an external recorder simultaneously.”
The Nikon D4S was recently put in the hands of HDSLR filmmaker and multimedia artist Corey Rich, plus three of today’s top photographers, Dave Black, Robert Beck and George Karbus. Working together, they created the multimedia HDSLR video, “DEDICATED.” Inspirational, educational, informative and entertaining, “DEDICATED” gives a passionate look at each artist’s work—plus it reveals visually ‘how they got the shot.’
“DEDICATED” showcases what top pros are doing to elevate the art of storytelling. Filmed & Produced by Corey Rich solely using the Nikon D4S, plus action photo from Black, Beck and Karbus, this short form video illustrates how well a multimedia artist can carry the photographic eye into filmmaking through the use of an HDSLR camera.
Also being featured at NAB is the new Nikon 1 V3. This compact camera also delivers 1080/60p HD video. It acquires slow motion footage at up to 720p/120 fps, plus the camera features an interval timer for creating timelapse movies, and a tilting touch LCD screen display all in a compact form factor.
Says Soares, “The Nikon 1 V3 puts the power to capture stunning slow motion footage into the filmmaker’s hands. With its Hybrid Autofocus sensor, the camera continuously tracks and focuses on a subject, yielding an aesthetically pleasant cinematic look to all footage. Paired with the tilting touch LCD display, the Advanced Hybrid Autofocus systems makes shifting focus from one subject to the next as easy as tapping the screen. There’s also a new Movie e-VR (Vibration Reduction) feature to keep video capture steady during handheld shooting.”
